The "Astra Monitoring" platform has received a major update to version 1.5.0, focusing on business logic tracking and security. The new version introduces four key features, over 30 improvements, and 11 security fixes.
The main new feature is the Business Transaction Monitoring (BTM) module. It allows real-time tracking of the full request path through a microservice architecture. Visual dashboards display RED metrics for each transaction: intensity, error rate, and duration.
A new monitor type has been added for alert handling, which reacts to SNMP traps. Its configuration is done through a visual constructor, eliminating the need for writing SQL queries.
A significant aspect of the release is full compatibility with the secure Astra Linux environment. Now, all agents, exporters, and binary files of the platform are automatically signed during the build process, ensuring their correct operation in the operating system's enhanced security modes.
The main system components have also been optimized. Monitors have received caching and accelerated loading, and dashboards have a new color palette and corrected layout. In addition, the exporter for the RuBackup backup system has been updated to support versions 2.4 and higher.
Ilya Zakharov, Director of the Monitoring Department at "Astra Group", noted:
With the release of version 1.5.0, "Astra Monitoring" becomes more than just a metric collection system; it's a tool for real-time business logic observation.
