The Russian development platform GitVerse, owned by SberTech, has announced the launch of library mirrors for the most popular programming languages. This step aims to ensure the stability of programmers' work and protect against potential disruptions in access to foreign services.
As part of the project, local copies of repositories for Python (PyPI), Go (proxy.golang.org), and Rust (Crates.io) have been deployed.
Thus, GitVerse provides developers in Russia with localized sources for popular technologies. Companies can use them as a primary or backup option, which guarantees process continuity and enhances technological independence. Additionally, hosting within Russian infrastructure ensures faster package download speeds.
SberTech positions GitVerse as an AI-centric platform for collaborative code development, which includes tools for code storage, vulnerability scanning, and analytics. More than 200,000 people use its capabilities.
