Russian developer Aquarius announced the start of serial production of its first product in the category of explosion-proof equipment — the compact tablet Aquarius AQpad R480M Ex. The device is certified for use in areas with flammable gases, vapors, and dust, ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment.
The tablet runs on the Aurora 5 operating system, certified by FSTEC of Russia, which guarantees data security and compatibility with Russian IT infrastructures. The device is protected from water and dust (IP68) and withstands extreme operating temperatures: from –20 to +55 °C. The shock-resistant body made of reinforced polycarbonate and the rubber screen damper increase the device's resistance to mechanical impacts.
The device's design eliminates the risk of sparking, which is confirmed by certificates for use in explosive zones 1, 2, 21, 22. The AQpad R480M Ex tablet complies with the requirements of the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union TR CU 012/2011 and GOST standards for explosion protection (GOST 31610.0-2019, GOST 31610.11-2014).
The AQpad R480M Ex is equipped with an 8.37-inch IPS screen with Full HD+ resolution (1920x1200 pixels), 13 and 5 MP cameras, an 8-core SoC (model not named), 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of built-in flash memory, a 10800 mAh battery, dual SIM support, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and GLONASS. It can be operated with gloves and on wet surfaces: the sensor supports glove operation and correctly responds to touches when water is present.
The AQpad R480M Ex is designed for the oil and gas, chemical, petrochemical industries, coal mines, flammable liquid warehouses, and other high-risk industries. The tablet allows for mobile inspections, equipment diagnostics, photo and video recording, access to production management and dispatch systems, work with electronic documents, and video conferencing.
