Yandex Market has implemented artificial intelligence to identify suspicious cash-on-delivery orders. To do this, the marketplace trained an ML model on data from previous purchases and anomalies in customer behavior.
The system analyzes customer behavior and assigns a risk level to each order. When suspicious transactions are detected, the system automatically notifies quality control staff, who make the final decision on whether to process the order and the payment method.
The new functionality is aimed at preventing fraudulent schemes and reducing losses for sellers and pickup point owners. In addition, artificial intelligence helps combat counterfeiting by processing and classifying user complaints about non-original goods.
As noted in Yandex, thanks to the joint work of algorithms and specialists, the proportion of complaints about counterfeiting on Yandex Market does not exceed 0.08% of all orders.
