STC IT ROSA reported that the key task for developers was to ensure seamless operation of equipment immediately after installation. Thanks to the implementation of a mechanism for automatically correcting ACPI tables and updating free drivers, the system now correctly supports sound, touchpads, Wi-Fi, and screens, even on specific devices.
In particular, sound "out of the box" is ensured on Xiaomi MiBook 14 laptops, and key components such as the keyboard, touchpad, and sound are working on the latest MacBook models with Intel processors. The problem with screen flickering on devices with incorrect matrix controller firmware (for example, with incorrect LVDS controller firmware from the manufacturer) has also been resolved. The operation of SYNA3602 touchpads, which stopped working on some laptops after system boot, has been fixed.
Working with peripherals has become easier. Thanks to the update of components that support WSD and eSCL protocols, printers, scanners, and MFPs from most manufacturers work automatically and without manual driver installation.
The interface has been updated to KDE Plasma version 6.4, receiving a proprietary refined dark theme and improved font rendering. In the Chromium browser (version 142), support for hardware video decoding on Intel cards has been retained. In addition, the browser supports GOST TLS "out of the box" via "CryptoPro". The driver set for video cards has been updated, providing full support for modern Intel and AMD graphics, including 14th generation Intel.
The repository includes updated user applications: the Thunderbird 140 mail client with long-term support and the "MosTech.Office" office suite (based on LibreOffice). Screenshots and Russian translations of descriptions for the most popular packages have appeared in the "Packages" application manager (dnfdragora).
And this is not all the improvements and updates in ROSA "Fresh" OS 13.1. The new version of the operating system is available for download on the official website.
