The new VK WorkSpace "super app" has a modular architecture, bringing together the platform's services in a single interface: "Mail", "Messenger", "Calendar", "Video Calls", "Drive" with "Documents", "Org Structure" and "Surveys". Company employees only see the services they need for work: for example, only "Mail" and "Calendar".
The new version supports working with emails and calendars in offline mode on mobile devices and PCs. Changes are synchronized automatically when connected to the Internet. At the domain level, you can make a PIN code mandatory for login, prohibit screenshots and the use of "rooted" devices, and activate notifications about an enabled VPN. An option has been added to encrypt traffic using Russian cryptographic algorithms (GOST TLS). Mobile versions provide storage of information in a local encrypted container.
One of the key updates is a geographically distributed mail system. This is a new mode of deployment and operation of the mail system for companies with a branched structure of offices in different parts of the country. It allows internal mail traffic of the region to be processed in a local data center, and external traffic to be routed through the central region, which houses unified information security tools.
The server version of "Messenger" has added a federation option: it allows you to configure the exchange of messages between individual installations. For example, the head office and a subsidiary can correspond in common chats, while maintaining the autonomy of their IT infrastructures.
In "Video Calls", the limit of participants has been increased to 500 people, and SIP integration has appeared - this allows you to connect office PBXs and hardware video conferencing systems to corporate calls. "Calendar" has been supplemented with a function for booking meeting rooms with real-time availability checking.
A server version of "Board" will appear in the updated platform. A mass migration function has been implemented, which allows you to transfer the entire structure of teams and boards from another service.
Most of the VK WorkSpace platform updates will be available in the near future - in release 25.4. The platform will be delivered under a new model: in the cloud and in the company's environment.
