Version 1.8.3 enables automatic installation of the operating system over the network to an arbitrary directory of a disk partition without prior preparation or partitioning. Scenarios for automated updates to Astra Linux 1.8 have been expanded.
It has also become more convenient to work with multiple monitors, both with local connection and remotely via RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol), and quick search for files, documents, and applications on the desktop by name has been added. The security system has been improved: configuring protection for specific tasks is now possible by simply selecting a profile, connecting and disconnecting individual modules.
Regarding server capabilities, the developers note that scanning images and containers is now 15 times faster. Administrators can configure individual connection rules for USB devices not only for storage devices, but also for smartphones, cameras, microphones, and other peripherals. Updated versions of key server packages Nginx, Ansible, Foreman, and others with security fixes.
