According to the developers, RuBackup 2.6 includes a set of improvements covering all aspects of working with information: from virtual environments to tape libraries, from cloud storage to modern mail platforms and DBMS.
First and foremost, there is a performance increase due to the optimization of data processing algorithms. Accelerated block pool backup now uses intelligent packaging of small data blocks, which doubles the speed of operations and saves disk space.
The range of solutions compatible with RuBackup has been expanded: it supports VMware vSphere 6.5-8.0 under Windows and in heterogeneous landscapes, and improves the security and functionality of working with virtualization environments (OpenStack, Proxmox VE, Tionix). It is possible to search for deleted virtual machine files (zVirt, oVirt, REDVirt, and ROSA) and granularly restore them without installing additional agents.
RuBackup 2.6 improves interaction with the RuPost mail server, now allowing selective restoration of deleted emails and mailboxes, and introduces a new backup module for Microsoft Exchange.
The system now supports a larger number of popular DBMSs, including incremental backup and instant recovery functions. Experimental support is available for any PostgreSQL-based database management systems, including Tantor DBMS, as well as the "1C:Enterprise 8" platform (version 16).
