Maintaining critical information infrastructure (CII) of telecom operators is a responsible task that should be handled by professionals. In order to consistently provide services, the ICT company "RTK-Service" has developed a methodology for assessing the competencies of the engineering staff. Based on it, the company has created a unified standard of work for specialists in communication networks.
"RTK-Service has two priority areas. The first is to maintain a high level of quality of work for our customers, regardless of their location. The second is the development of engineering talents. We are assembling a team of not just specialists, but the elite of engineers who will be able to implement the most complex projects on the networks of Russian telecom operators," says Andrey Kononenko, General Director of RTK-Service.
Participants of the Professional Skills Competition for engineers in the "Installation" profile, which took place from March 18 to 21 in the Moscow region, were able to demonstrate work according to the standard. The competition showed the level of quality of the work performed and identified the strongest technical experts of RTK-Service.
To participate in the Competition, 16 of the most trained specialists from regional offices of RTK-Service, distributed throughout Russia, were selected. During the competition, engineers demonstrated to the evaluation committee their key technical competencies in working with telecommunications and electrical equipment on stands simulating the infrastructure of telecom operators.
Engineers worked in teams of 2 people – just as teams of specialists go to real customer sites. Each team was represented by specialists of middle and senior levels.
"RTK-Service employs more than 750 people, and about 60% of employees are engineers and technical specialists. Therefore, a "fine" tuning of the skills of each specialist according to a unified standard is necessary," commented Maria Seraya, HR Director of RTK-Service.
The partners of the competition were: OCS Distribution, the manufacturer of telecommunications equipment ITK, the Russian brand of uninterruptible power supplies "Cyber Electro" and the developer of domestic routers EcoRouter, the company "RDP Innovations".
