It was in this church, built in 1701, that the future admiral of the Russian fleet, the holy righteous warrior Feodor Ushakov, and his uncle, the venerable Feodor Sanaksarsky, were baptized.
The motor rally column included legends of the domestic automotive industry: the personal car of the President of the USSR ZIL — 41047, Marussia b1 – the first and only Russian supercar, assembled by the team of showman Nikolai Fomenko, AURUS car models, including the AURUS Komendant, provided by "NAMI".
On August 4, the motor rally arrived in Khopylyovo, where, after the transfer of the relic, a festival in memory of Feodor Ushakov was held with an extensive cultural and aviation sports program. Pilots of the Rybinsk Aviation Club held a unique air show. For the first time in Russia, aerobatic maneuvers were simultaneously performed by the largest and smallest biplanes in the world, the well-known AN-2 and the famous among professionals sports aerobatic Pitts.
The next stop for the motor rally participants was the Sanaksar Monastery. Every year on August 5, on the day of the glorification of Feodor Ushakov, the shrine with the relics of the holy righteous warrior is transferred from the Sanaksar Monastery to Saransk, to the main Cathedral of Feodor Ushakov, where, with thousands of parishioners and pilgrims, a festive Divine Liturgy is celebrated, after which the relics are returned to the monastery. This year, the honor of carrying the shrine with the relics from the Sanaksar Monastery and delivering it to Saransk fell to the participants of the Moscow – Khopylyovo motor rally.
«This is a special privilege and honor. Touching the shrine with the relics of Feodor Ushakov is an important spiritual event in the life of each of us,» — said Dmitry Shlopak, head of the initiative group for the construction of a spiritual and historical complex in honor of the holy and righteous warrior Feodor Ushakov in Moscow.
On August 5, on the day of the church-wide canonization of the holy righteous warrior Feodor Ushakov, busts of the holy naval commander were also unveiled in 7 cities of Russia: Sevastopol, Ryazan, Petrozavodsk, Donetsk, Skadovsk, Yeysk, and Azov. The busts are being installed in cities whose representatives won in the nominations of the All-Russian competition "Admiral Feodor Ushakov Through My Eyes," which took place in the winter of 2024.
The motor rally and festival in memory of Feodor Ushakov are organized by the Board of Trustees for the Restoration of the Temple Complex in the village of Khopylyovo and the initiative group for the construction of a spiritual and historical complex in honor of the holy and righteous warrior Feodor Ushakov in Moscow with the support of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Yaroslavl Region, the St. Andrew the First-Called Foundation, and the federal charitable project "Vseh Obnyal".
