The opening of new divisions takes place as part of the implementation of a strategic business development plan and expansion of the development team. The R&D center in St. Petersburg employs a group of employees from the department of automation and quality assurance of software products.
Specialists are engaged in automating the testing of BMC and server management software. The management of the "Aquarius" Group of Companies plans to expand the team and hire employees who automate the testing of other system software.
By the end of this year, the R&D center in St. Petersburg plans to automate the maximum possible number of processes to increase the accuracy and speed of work. The team's task is to build the process so that from the moment the product is assembled to the issuance of a report on its quality, the engineer's intervention is required only in cases where it is impossible to do without it.
"The opening of two R&D centers is of strategic importance for the group of companies. Firstly, in both cities there were formed teams with world-class expertise in the competencies that were needed. Secondly, there are some of the best IT schools here, which in the future will allow us to attract highly professional developers to "Aquarius" to expand the teams. And, of course, we are aimed at increasing our presence and strengthening the group's position in the IT market. We also continue to expand teams not only in the technological centers of the country, but also in those cities where production facilities are located: in Shuya and Tver," - emphasized the president of the "Aquarius" Group of Companies Vladimir Stepanov.
A team of 25 people works in Nizhny Novgorod, which is engaged in the development of the entire software stack for Aquarius PDAs and tablets based on Android and Aurora OS. By the end of 2024, a significant increase in the number of engineers in the center and the attraction of new employees in the field of system software development, OS, equipment, performance and energy consumption research is planned.
«As part of the work on our own mobile operating system in the Nizhny Novgorod division, we are creating a UI shell, a wide range of libraries, services and applications for convenient and full-fledged operation. After the completion of development, it will be a functional and well-adapted OS specifically for Aquarius mobile devices. Our plans include expanding the user experience and increasing ease of use by creating
a common ecosystem with other company products, such as laptops and desktop PCs," - notes Oleg Oleinik, Director of the Technical Directorate.
The division in Nizhny Novgorod has been operating since August last year, the official opening of the office in St. Petersburg is scheduled for the first quarter of 2024.
The first development center of the group was opened in Moscow, it employs more than 300 different specialists: engineers, topologists, testers, circuit designers, microelectronics developers, software development specialists and industrial designers. The "Aquarius" company plans to continue opening development offices in the technological centers of the country, localizing production and opening new areas of development.
In total, the group of companies has three development centers: in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Nizhny Novgorod. Production facilities are located in Shuya (Ivanovo region) and Tver. 250 service centers operate in 135 cities of Russia.
