During the project, the QR code scanner was integrated into the mobile application for individuals of Ingosstrakh Bank, which is implemented on the Abanking platform. The bank's online bank is also launched on the platform. Smart Engines is a technology partner of the Abanking platform.
“Ingosstrakh Bank relies on quality standards when choosing technological solutions. Our task is to provide customers with convenient access to all the necessary daily banking services in the mobile application,” comments Evgeny Maskalev, Director of Information Technology at Ingosstrakh Bank.
With the help of software for scanning QR codes, bank customers can make money transfers, pay for utilities, various receipts, invoices, fines and make purchases. Barcodes can be read on documents, screens or other surfaces, in a video stream or on photos taken by users, choosing from the gallery.
Smart Engines technologies allow scanning one-dimensional (CODABAR, CODE_39, CODE_93, CODE_128, EAN_8, EAN_13, ITF, ITF14 UPC_A, UPC_E) and two-dimensional barcodes (QR, AZTEC, PDF417, DataMatrix). The Smart Engines intelligent scanner performs all calculations on the user's device in real time, ensuring the security and confidentiality of the Bank's customers' personal data. Today, with its help, bank customers in Russia make more than 50 million payments every month.
The Smart Code Engine for online banks uses WebAssembly (WASM) technology. The software in the form of a WASM module is integrated into the online bank based on PWA technology (progressive web app visually and functionally transforms the online site into a mobile application). The recognition functionality of the PWA bank is similar to an iOS or Android application.
After the suspension of Apple Pay and Google Pay payment services in Russia, as well as the departure of international payment systems VISA and MasterCard, Russians began to make payments using QR codes much more often.
