As part of the new service, Selectel offers all-flash storage, divided into LUNs (Logical Unit Numbers). In the storage LUN, the user can rent from 1 TB of disk space and flexibly manage it during use. The read/write speed (IOPS) is 8000 operations per second per 1 TB of data. Administration and monitoring of the storage LUN is the responsibility of Selectel.
Speaking of use cases, storage LUN is suitable for storing data separately from computing. This scheme is in demand among customers who build private clouds on top of Selectel dedicated servers. Also, this storage has proven itself as a Persistent Volume (PV) in Kubernetes. Storing data separately from computing allows you to flexibly transfer workloads from one physical server to another and increase deployment speed, which generally increases the reliability and availability of information systems.
In the storage LUN, it is possible to organize both file and block data storage. The solution integrates with Selectel dedicated servers, allowing customers to create a high-performance hybrid infrastructure. The starting price of the solution is 20 rubles per month per 1 GB, the minimum placement volume is 1 TB.
In addition to storage LUN, Selectel customers can rent dedicated storage. Such storage is isolated at the hardware level, and monitoring and management of it is the responsibility of the customer. In one dedicated storage, you can store from 100 TB to several petabytes of data and process more than 100 thousand operations per second.
