Russian developer Orion soft and computer equipment manufacturer Aquarius have entered into a partnership agreement to develop a ready-made hardware solution with domestic virtualization. The Aquarius flagship CF series servers include the zVirt secure server virtualization platform, which covers up to 95% of the functionality of VMware vSphere and vCenter. The integrated solution is best suited for customers currently working on the VMWare platform who are actively implementing import substitution policies and need to meet CII requirements. The implementation of such a product makes it possible to close a complete technology stack: companies receive servers, virtualization, and storage systems simultaneously. Since all components are included in the Registers of the Ministry of Digital Affairs and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, this solution will meet the requirements of regulators for import substitution and ensure the security of personal data and state information systems.
"One of the main issues that arises when implementing import substitution policies in companies is the compatibility of domestic solutions from various vendors," explains Maxim Berezin, Business Development Director at Orion soft. "Often, solutions that are themselves an excellent replacement for previously popular foreign products begin to conflict with other software when implemented in a specific organization's IT infrastructure. To avoid such situations, we have jointly developed a comprehensive hardware solution with a pre-installed virtualization platform with Aquarius. This approach is fully consistent with our strategic goal of creating an ecosystem of infrastructure products that meets all key customer needs in this area."
The integrated solution includes Aquarius T50 D110CF servers and the Aquarius Array FS440 data storage system. Three zVirt configurations are currently available to customers: Small, Medium, and Large. The differences lie in the number of servers – 3, 5, and 9, respectively. A major advantage for companies that take advantage of the integrated solution will also be the availability of single technical support.
"Aquarius products have been successfully used in major Russian public and private companies for a long time," noted Olga Shernek, Director of the Product Directorate of Aquarius Group. "The partnership with the leader in the virtualization segment, Orion soft, will provide customers with a reliable and in-demand integrated solution, which will make their transition to domestic hardware and software more comfortable. At the same time, the compatibility of the products has been confirmed and guaranteed by joint equipment testing."
