Astra Group, a leading Russian developer of infrastructure software, announces the release of a new version of the directory service - ALD Pro 2.0. The system allows you to build a domain on Linux and manage the organization's computer fleet using group policies through an intuitive interface. ALD Pro implements the capabilities of automated installation of OS and software on computers in the domain, remote access to user desktops, and monitoring the status of directory service services. The product is included in the "Unified Register of Russian Programs for Computers and Databases" of the Ministry of Digital Development under number 12159.
Among the architectural changes, it is worth noting the modification of the ALD Pro subsystem deployment mechanism: a data bus with a message queue has been implemented to ensure guaranteed delivery of automation tasks to domain computers, thereby ensuring the possibility of developing this functionality in subsequent versions of ALD Pro.
The delegation has been modified - a transition has been made to a tool that allows flexible configuration of privileges in roles and limits their scope, and a foundation has been formed for further development of the functional block.
In ALD Pro 2.0, the event logging mechanism has been updated to increase the speed of message processing, as well as the processing of structured message formats. The speed of operation and utilization of processor and RAM resources on the server and client side has been optimized, and the functionality of interaction with the most relevant SIEM systems has been laid down.
In release 2.0, a lot of work has been done to update the documentation, taking into account user experience. The product's help center has been improved, in which existing materials have been updated and new materials have been added, as well as user, operational, and API documentation have been updated.
"A number of fundamental changes have been implemented in the new version of ALD Pro. They concern both the addition of new features and the development of existing ones. The innovations affect the architecture, information security, group policy management mechanisms, solution update processes, and many other aspects of ALD Pro. All these improvements are aimed at scalability, fault tolerance and stability of the system on large installations. This approach is supposed to be maintained and improved in the development of all subsequent versions of ALD Pro", - saysAlexey Fomenko, Director of the Department of Management Tools Development at Astra Group.
Version ALD Pro 2.0 is now available to users in the Astra Linux Special Edition OS repository. When updating from the previous version, developers strongly recommend following the steps outlined in the document "Administrator's Guide to Installation and Update 2.0.0".
