The event program included: discussions about the OCP concept, advantages for partners; introduction to Delta Computers equipment; discussion of warranty support nuances.
Speakers: Maxim Platonov, Lead Project Manager Delta Computers and Nikita Pashkovsky, Lead Product Manager for Client Systems at Delta Computers.
The event was opened by Maxim Platonov, who said that Delta Computers is a Russian engineering company based in Moscow. We have our own developments, this is not OEM, our engineers, circuit designers, designers, programmers, topologists are involved in the processes of development and production.
We have installed more than 4,500 units of our own equipment, of which approximately 2,000 are in government bodies and corporations, more than 70 of our products are included in the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
We have received 9 patents for the equipment we produce. Delta Computers is a developer and participant in the Open Computer Project consortium.
Technology partners
We pay special attention to the behavior of certifications and testing of our equipment together with software manufacturers. Our specialists participate in all certification tests. The slide above shows various manufacturers - software developers of both operating systems and virtualization systems.
This slide shows the customers of Delta Computers, these companies have fairly large installations of our server and client equipment. The direction we are working in is the development of server equipment according to the OCP standard.
The OCP concept involves creating the most efficient servers in terms of both power consumption and cost compared to classic 19-inch concepts.
Our equipment can be divided into two categories: server equipment and client systems.
The clients of our server equipment are mainly large and medium-sized companies, corporate and government customers, data center owners.
Given the features of our concept, our equipment becomes effective in volumes of at least 10 servers. Our equipment is created on the basis of open standards, it ensures the creation of energy-efficient and economical clusters.
We provide stability in supply, in product development, we provide consulting and technical support. Racks, shelves, server equipment - all this is certified.
Server products
Conceptually, the entire system differs from the classic 19-inch concept in that all power is supplied centrally. The servers and disk shelves themselves do not have their own power supplies, all power, I repeat, is centralized and is carried out through the power zone, which is located in the rack itself and powers all the equipment in the rack by distributing electricity through a common busbar.
The Delta Computers line includes the following servers: Delta Akturu, Delta Tioga Pass, Delta Bright Lake. The first has from 20 to 50 units, flexible configuration, built-in ACS. Delta Tioga Pass – dual-socket, built on 2nd generation Intel processors (2 units = 3 servers). Processor power up to 205 W. Delta Bright Lake is built on the 3rd generation of Intel Xeon Scalable processors (Ice Lake). Processor power up to 270 W, DDR4 RAM with a frequency of 3.2 GHz (up to 8 TB). Various variations of settings, expansion cards.
Delta Argut Hybrid is used for storage - this is a disk shelf, from 500 000 IOPS. It is built on the basis of NVMe disks/SATA disks.
Client equipment
Nikita Pashkovsky, Lead Product Manager for Client Systems at Delta Computers, continued the story about client equipment.
The line of computers includes the Beaver and Voron PCs, and there is also a line of Sova monitors (23.8”, 27”, 31.5”). The devices are professional, there are no consumer models, all models are corporate level. There are automated workstations – ARMs Los and Yastreb. We purchase equipment under Federal Law 44 and Federal Law 223 (focus on the import substitution program). Our priority is companies that need high-quality equipment both for solving basic office tasks (education and medicine) and for more resource-intensive applied tasks.
We can create a software package to order - basic CAD systems, CAD modeling, we have relevant certificates of compatibility with KOMPAS-3D.
Solutions are made on the basis of Intel and BAIKAL-M processors. 11 products are already in the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. 20 products are awaiting inclusion in the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. 3 new products are being prepared for release in 2023. 10,000 units of products have already been installed.
Representatives of private business are still looking at Russian equipment, they are happy to take equipment for testing. We are ready to work on small projects, we do not have a minimum order volume.
We do not have strict standard configurations, computers can be assembled for the tasks of the customer, for specific TORs.
The standard response of our presales is up to two days. We have prepared very clear marketing materials, there is a lot of useful information on our website.
Large component assembly of PCs and monitors is carried out in Moscow, we order the installation of elements on motherboards at contract manufacturing facilities, all this is necessary in order to meet the strict requirements of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
This year Delta Computers introduced 5 new products, among them, perhaps, the main one is 2nd generation desktop computers based on the Anemone 2 motherboard and new 12th and 13th generation Intel Core processors.
We have made a universal motherboard on the basic Intel H610 chipset, which has 3 video outputs, IFC, two high-speed USB-A3 (speed increased from 5 to 10 Gbps), plus PSI Express of the new 5th generation. At the same time, the bandwidth has increased relative to the 4th generation - by a factor of two.
Another motherboard is made on the BAIKAL-M processor, Rosatom purchased these models. Also in 2023, Delta Computers began mass production of Sova monitors, the line of these monitors is quite wide (23.8”, 27”, 31.5”). We now manufacture motherboards in Russia, which allows us to obtain a separate conclusion for each of the monitors.
Service program
The service program has 3 levels: Silver, Gold and Platinum. They are universal for both client and infrastructure equipment. The difference is that in the basic Silver package for client equipment, the type of service is bring-in on site, and for infrastructure equipment it is always on-site on the client's side.
For Gold, the response time is up to 24 hours, and for Platinum - up to 24 hours, but the order acceptance time is around the clock 24x7, without days off. The warranty period is from 1 to 5 years, the warranty can be extended, there are additional services such as replacement equipment, non-refundable disks, training.
Support lines
As for service support, Delta Computers has three levels of it. Help Desk (1st line), Administration (2nd line) and Expert support (3rd line).
Help Desk. Here the classification and initial analysis of the type of equipment is carried out, and then a responsible specialist is assigned according to the type of equipment. Acceptance of requests is carried out 24*7.
Administration. Here, the classification of the level of criticality of the request is already carried out. The selected specialist begins to solve the problem. If necessary, the fault is reproduced and analyzed in its own laboratory. An algorithm for solving the problem and replacing components is developed.
Expert support. A dedicated engineer works according to this algorithm. He requests fixes and updates the software. All this happens within 4-6 hours.
The following slide shows the territorial location of service centers.
