"Аквариус" стал заказчиком для собственного оборудования

Founded in 1989, "Aquarius" has significantly expanded its production capacity in recent years. In 2022, in addition to the factory in Shuya, a second production and logistics complex was opened in Tver, and in 2024 the company launched three Development Centers in Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, and St. Petersburg. As a result, production volume increased to 2.7 million devices per year, and the number of employees has increased 2.5 times in the last three years.

Active development required a large-scale modernization of the digital infrastructure, which had to meet new requirements for security, performance, and manageability. The equipment used previously ceased to meet these criteria, which prompted the company to switch to solutions of its own production.

Project Implementation

To ensure the smooth operation of the network in offices and at production sites, it was decided to use the Aquarius line of switches. The development of the infrastructure included two key areas: the organization of data centers and the creation of an office and production network environment.

As part of the project, 12 switch models were integrated into the network architecture, covering various levels — from backbone solutions for data centers to basic devices for local networks. In particular, the 6000 series switches were implemented in the data center, providing expansion of the EVPN-VXLAN fabric and integration with existing equipment. The 3000 series copper switches were used to manage servers, and the 5000 series switches became the core and aggregation level of office networks. In total, 24 devices were deployed, providing a scalable and fault-tolerant network architecture.

A key element of the project was the "Aquarius"-developed AqNOS (Aquarius Network Operating System), which demonstrated high stability, broad functionality, and protection against cyber threats. The use of its own OS allowed the company to flexibly adapt the software to the needs of the business and eliminate identified shortcomings.

Implementation Results

According to Oleg Schepalin, the equipment implementation process went smoothly, and the feedback received from specialists helped to make useful improvements to the product line. "Any identified shortcomings were promptly eliminated, and the switches for office tasks showed reliable operation with minimal configuration requirements," he noted.

Artem Drozhzhin, Director of the Telecommunications Solutions Department at "Aquarius", emphasized the importance of the project: "Replacing the previously used equipment with our own solutions is a significant event for us and a benchmark for our customers. Despite the challenges that arose during the work, the refinement of solutions allowed us to achieve good results."
