In honor of the 10th anniversary of the Games, Sirius Hotels hosted events with the participation of Olympic champions Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov. The celebrated figure skaters met with guests and employees of the federal territory at the "Official Hotel of the Olympic and Paralympic Family" — the Alfa Sirius hotel complex — and shared personal memories of victories and life in the Olympic Village:
"We literally fell in love with the Imeretinskaya Lowland during the Olympic Games and even decided to stay here. A lot connects us with this place: Tatiana's and my two gold medals in pair skating, my role as flag bearer at the closing ceremony of the Olympics, teaching children figure skating. The beauty of nature, modern resort conditions, and sports opportunities of 'Sirius' delight us even today, 10 years later. Here, we strive to develop and multiply the sporting glory of our country," said Maxim Trankov.
Continuing the visit, the athletes participated in the ceremony of loading the "Time Capsule 2024-2030" with a message to the future generation of hospitality professionals. Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov wrote their wishes on paper and also placed them in the capsule.
The General Director of the Sirius hotel chain, Alexander Loskutov, spoke at the event. He noted that over the years, the team of the Alfa Sirius hotel complex has welcomed more than a million guests, brilliantly handled the FIFA World Cup, the 2017 Youth Festival, Formula 1 stages, international and all-Russian forums, as well as thousands of musical, business, and corporate events.
"I am confident that our colleagues and the new generation of Sirius Hotels employees will continue their path at the forefront of the hospitality industry's development and will personally demonstrate the highest results of their activities, while implementing innovative approaches and technologies," concluded Alexander Loskutov.
After the completion of the ceremonial events, the champions Maxim Trankov and Tatiana Volosozhar were invited to take a walk around the former Olympic Village and visit the apartment where they lived during the 2014 Winter Games.
"It has only become more comfortable in 10 years," shares Tatiana. "More greenery and palm trees, cafes, restaurants, and also playgrounds and a secured area — which is very important to us as parents."
The apartments of the Russian Olympic team were located in the very center and occupied three entire buildings on the coast! Now, the reception of the Sea Quarter of Alfa Sirius is located on the ground floor of building "M", and on the Wall of Olympic Heritage are autographs of famous athletes from different countries around the world and even Vladimir Putin's signature. Maxim Trankov saw his last name with the addition "RUS" in the upper corner.
During the Olympics, Maxim and Tatiana lived in an apartment on the fourth floor with the largest balcony and a sea view. Each had their own bedroom, but a shared living room. Another Olympic champion, Adelina Sotnikova, lived in the room opposite. The hockey team was located in the neighboring building. According to strict IOC standards, the athletes' rooms had a minimum of furniture and appliances: a bed, bedside tables, chairs, and wardrobes. The TV was located only in the common area — there, all the Russian figure skaters together followed the successes of the team.
Today, the hotel complex is fully equipped with household appliances, TVs, kitchens, soft furniture in the rooms, and tables on the balconies. The courtyards are filled with evergreen plants, heated swimming pools, and sports grounds. At any time of the year, guests have access to a fitness center, a SPA complex, restaurants, and "smart tourism" programs. The special location allows you to reach the beach in a few minutes by transfer or the ski resorts in half an hour, where the biathlon, cross-country skiing, and ski jumping competitions were held in 2014.
In addition, on February 7, 2024, an exhibition of artists from "Sirius", dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Winter Olympic Games, opened at Sirius Hotels. Works were presented by members of the Art Club of the Art and Historical Center "Sirius". The paintings are installed in the lobbies of the Delta hotels (in 2014 — the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee) and Omega (journalists from all over the world lived here during the Games).
